The most common cause of fault with hot water cylinders is limescale build up.

Whether it is a build up preventing the coil to heat up efficiently, blocking the inlet or outlet causing a reduced hot water flow rate or cording the immersion elements.

We would recommend while changing immersion(s) that the heating coil is cleaned of hard limescale and all loose limescale is removed, making the hot water cylinder much more efficient.
